Downtown State College welcomed a new business this week: Ethereal. This boho-chic store with a modern twist is centered around a unique shopping experience, offering athleisure-wear, fashionable women’s business clothing, accessories, home products and more.

Miranda Sheetz, owner of the new boutique, worked for a Forture 500 company for two years, before deciding to reevaluate her personal values and goals. She realized she was unhappy with where she was in life and instead made a list of her passions. She followed these intuitions and decided to open a store not far from her home town of Hollidaysburg.

“Fashion and clothing has always been an influential part in my life,” Sheetz said. “I want this store to reflect my personal brand, which is light and positive.”

With a peaceful, angelic atmosphere, Ethereal offers different intention products. Candles, crystals and more are intended to guide people to a more positive, determined lifestyle.

“All the brands in this store offer a kind of positive and inspiring message,” she said. “Something that I value in my personal life.”

Miranda hopes to extend her business beyond simply sales. She invites customers to come and enjoy her welcoming space, whether it be enjoying a cup of tea or having a meaningful conversation.

She also plans to offer workshops and unique activities to encourage creativity and positivity in daily life. She believes these kinds of community-building experiences are important, especially for college-aged students and those who may be consumed by a busy working life.

Ethereal opened its doors on Monday, September 24 and has since seen a great sense of encouragement and positive feedback from the downtown State College community.

Ethereal is located at 216 East College Ave in downtown State College. Find out more on their website or on Instagram.
