On Friday, November 3rd start your weekend with an all-American salute to Military Appreciation on the 100 block of Allen Street! The festivities will begin at 5 pm with performances by Fuse Productions, Performing Arts School of Central PA, Centre Heritage Singers, Dan & Galla, and Rodeo Serenade. At 5:30 pm, the American Legion Post #245 will have their Honor Guard on site for a presentation of colors, followed by an a cappella rendition of the National Anthem by Arietta, then remarks by Dr. Eric Barron of Penn State University and Irene Miller of State College Downtown Improvement District.

Free cupcakes, flags, and patriotic glow apparel will be available at the Downtown State College booth, where a jumbo Thank You card will be on display for all to sign! The Dear Hero Program will have a table set-up to receive donated items for care packages and help people write thank you letters to active military members. Participating businesses will donate a portion of the evening’s proceeds to the Penn State Student Military Fund!

In addition to the numerous performances and ways to show your military appreciation, there will also be booths and military vehicles to explore! A few of these booths include Spring Creek Trout Unlimited, Reboot Combat Recovery, Omega Delta Sigma, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, PA Military Museum, Nittany Crossfit, Centre County Veteran’s Affairs, PYP Studio, South Hills, Jersey Mike’s, Old State Clothing Co., and Freedom 5k for PTSD.

Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty will be on hand to view the patriotic LED lightshow and take selfies with attendees!
