Experience the cool vibe of downtown State College during our monthly First Friday events.  A casual atmosphere features art, people-watching, mingling with friends, shopping, and dining at the diverse and delectable State College restaurants.  First Friday goers will experience after-hours access to galleries and shops, free bites and beverages, live music and entertainment, retail and restaurant specials, and more. Sticker Making Workshop

5:00-8:00 pm

Make a statement! Share your opinions! Join us downtown at the Woskob Family Gallery for a workshop to create your own vinyl or hand-drawn stickers. Using both old-school methods and more technologically involved techniques, participants will be able to design, make, and share their very own sticker art.

 

 

Jim Zuck Art Exhibit

5:30-7:30 pm

The Expect More Store presents the work of local artist Jim Zuck during First Friday! Stop by to view his original artwork and enjoy cheeses, wine, and beer.

 

 

Teacup Mini-Garden Workshop

6:00-8:00 pm

For First Friday in June, come visit The Makery and make a teacup mini garden!

A super-fun and whimsical ‘make-and-take’ for both kids and adults, you will pick an up-cycled teacup and create a whimsical habitat with a small terrarium plant, moss, pebbles, a wee creature or figure of your choice, plus other miniature embellishments.

You only need to bring your imagination with you. Refreshments provided. $15 per mini garden. Pre-registration is recommended, but walk-ins are welcome.

 

 

Coffee Tasting & Fine Art Exhibit

5:00-7:00 pm

Join Saint’s Cafe for an evening of gourmet coffee tasting with Intelligentsia featuring artwork by Jo Megas.

 

 

Ladies Night at Appalachian Outdoors

5:00-8:00 pm

The North Face presents #shemovesmountains Ladies Night! Join us for a special First Friday along with our usual libations, KidTech Centre County will be entertaining the young and young at heart.  L.Migelle Soutner-Fuller from Big Spring Spirits will be sharing cocktails. And for you entertainment Matt Marsden and Friends will be entertaining Downtown State College!  “Check in” on Facebook and receive 15 % off non-sale merchandise, Additional 10% off sale merchandise!

Eric Ian Farmer Performs at the Fraser Street MLK Plaza Stage!

Downtown State College is please to welcome Eric Ian Farmer back to perform at First Friday! Eric Ian Farmer will be joined by special guests Ady Martinez (vocals/cuatro) and Sam Milz (guitar/vocals)

 

 

Take Home Your Own PSU Cake!

6:30-8:30 pm

Sweet Tooth Bakery will provide you a 2 layer iced cake that you may cover with fondant or just add your own decorations. They have Collegiate licensing that allows them to use PSU logos and photos on cookies and chocolates, so they will provide chocolate coins and blue and white decorations to decorate your own cake. Learn how to put a wafer paper PSU logo on your cake. The cost for this event is only $20, with a value of over $33! You will leave with a cake to share with your family and friends!  Please call 814-238-8835 to register and pay ahead.

 

State College Wear Orange Night

5:00-8:00 pm

Our newly formed chapter of Moms Demand Action will host an information table at First Friday on the 100 block of Allen Street. This is part of the National Awareness Campaign: WEAR ORANGE! Together, we can work to end gun violence!

First Friday at The State Theatre

5:00-8:00 pm

The State Theatre will be showcasing the work of Mike Demi as their featured June lobby artist!  In addition, a performance by flow dancer Sherry Tallon will be under the marquee! The Theatre is also offering  a First Friday discount of 10% off the ticket price for the July 21st David Wilcox show!

 

 

Opening Reception with Aparna Parikh

This month’s gallery artist, Aparna Parikh, welcomes you to enjoy her mixed media prints and original works. A powerful combination of travel diary, cultural commentary, and artistic prowess, Aparna’s work will delight and spark conversation!
