First Friday July: An Evening of Literary Readings

During Downtown State College’s July First Friday, in collaboration with Webster’s Bookstore & Cafe, the gallery will host an evening of literary readings and refreshments.
At 5:30 PM, we will kick things off with a reading by Rachael Lyon, Assistant Teaching Professor of Poetry at Penn State, followed at 6 PM by Lisa Mangini, Assistant Teaching Professor of English at Penn State.
At 6:30 PM, Professor Emeritus of Spanish and Comparative Literature at Penn State Robert Lima will present a reading.
At 7 PM, Nicole Miyashiro will present two new ekphrastic poems based on Diane Samuel’s piece, “Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas/Testimony Against Gertrude Stein,” on currently view in the exhibition, SUMMER READING.
