The State College community has always been family friendly. Growing Tree Toys and The Animal Kingdom have been bringing the childlike spirit to the Heart of Happy Valley for years.
While the businesses were here before her, Lindsay Williamson, the current owner, is proud to have continued the legacy of having family friendly places to shop Downtown.
“I’ve been here for a long time, I grew up here, then I left, and then I came back. There’s always something that brings you back to Happy Valley.”
Williamson believes in the power of customer service, and she knows she couldn’t do her best job without the team she has behind her.
“It’s all about the people. My team and my staff are top notch. I take care of my team and my team takes care of my customers…Customer service is important, so is going that extra mile. You don’t get that from big box retail.”
Williamson loves everything about State College, especially the people and the community.
“The people make this town. The community is tight knit. We always pull together and make it through. It’s big and small at the small time. It is so diverse, especially with having the University here. It’s a special place for sure. We show up for the people. The door is open and our masks are on.”
