Join us for a special documentary film screening and panel discussion to explore the technologies and policy making surrounding genetically engineered foods. Traveling from Hawaiian papaya groves to banana farms in Uganda to the cornfields of Iowa, the film, narrated by esteemed science communicator Neil deGrasse Tyson wrestles with the emotions and the evidence driving one of the most heated arguments of our time.

Following the screening, there will be a question and answer session with a group of local experts. The Q&A panelists will be Sarah Evanega, director of the Alliance for Science; Siela Maximova, research professor of plant biotechnology; Lee Ahern, director of Penn State’s Science Communication Program; and Shelby Fleisher, professor of entomology.
