Experience the cool vibe of downtown State College during our monthly First Friday events. A casual atmosphere features art, people-watching, mingling with friends, shopping, and dining at the diverse and delectable State College restaurants. First Friday goers will experience after-hours access to galleries and shops, free bites and beverages, live music, retail and restaurant specials, and more. Natural dye workshop by Megan Gottfried at 6 p.m.

Join local artists Megan Gottfried for a short workshop on sustainable art making. Explore the natural dyeing process using red cabbage and goldenrod.

 

 

Sunflower seed cup sale by Holger and Wesley for Ukraine, 5-8 p.m.

 

Please consider supporting eight-year olds, Holger and Wesley’s efforts to raise money for Ukrainian humanitarian relief organizations through their sale of sunflower seed cups.  There are a few seeds and soil in each paper cup.  Just water them, watch them sprout, and then plant them outside.  Holger and Wesley chose the sunflower because it is Ukraine’s National Flower, and they have selected a few organizations to receive all donations from their project, including Sunflowers for Peace, which provides medical and humanitarian aid used by paramedics and doctors in affected areas of Ukraine.

A suggested donation is $3 for one or $5 for two.

“What’s Inside Matters!”
Growing Tree Toys

In support of #SCASDReads and the district book “You Matter”, Growing Tree Toys will be giving out free mini excavation blocks. You can take it home or excavate on site with us… because discovering what’s inside matters. While supplies last, one rock per child – it’s a geological expedition in the palm of your hand! Use the included chisel took to dig in and reveal a real mineral, fossil or a dinosaur figure.
