First Friday May: Upcycle Workshop

Join us during Downtown State College‘s May First Friday for an all-ages upcycling workshop. Bring your recyclables (plastic bottles, cans, cartons, and more!) to the workshop or drop them off at the gallery beforehand. Participants will be able to create their very own planters, bird feeders, bug hotels, and other environmental projects.

During the workshop view the exhibition “Tiny Acts Topple Empires,” a group exhibition exploring the multitude of ways contemporary art can challenge the status quo and enact incremental change in our culture. From a national open call, curator Heather Darcy Bhandari selected works by thirty-five artists that engage in various forms of rebellion from revealing frequently invisible subjects to operating through direct acts of intervention.
