Experience the cool vibe of downtown State College during our monthly First Friday events. A casual atmosphere features art, people-watching, mingling with friends, shopping, and dining at the diverse and delectable State College restaurants. First Friday goers will experience after-hours access to galleries and shops, free bites and beverages, live music and entertainment, retail and restaurant specials, and more. Old State Clothing Co. is hosting a book signing by Denise Kaminsky, author of the Nittany Lion Books. Also, Kevin Reilly artist of “Impressions of Happy Valley” will be in the store. Light refreshments will also be served!
Maker Stations at The Makery
The 2nd Anniversary Event from 6 – 8 p.m will have modern, on-trend maker stations for all ages, refreshments and fun surprises to boot! This event is free to the public, but The Makery will be accepting donations to help cover medical expenses for one of our very special Makery Kids.

Woskob Family Gallery
Join us for an all-ages water marbling workshop. Participants will make their own prints using the Japanese suminagashi technique. Artist Rabia Eraslan Biyik will demonstrate ebru, the traditional Turkish art of water marbling, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Art Alliance Gallery Presents Fabricated
From 7 – 9 p.m. explore contemporary fiber artists’ world with textiles, color, texture, and a great deal of patience in Fabricated at the Art Alliance Gallery. This exhibition brings together seven artists whose practices marry creative expression with traditional maker-techniques, featuring felting and colored silk to quilting.
Woskob Family Gallery
SEEP presents the work of 11 contemporary artists who use water as medium, subject matter, or both. Each artist approaches water from a different angle, whether as a tool for art-making, a springboard for exploring issues of resource scarcity, or as a metaphor for unknowable terrain.
Local Artist, Nancy Brassington featured at The Expect More Store
The Expect More Store presents the work of local artist Nancy Brassington during First Friday! Stop by to view her original artwork and enjoy cheeses, wine, and beer. Nancy Brassington received her Master of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing from The Pennsylvania State University in 1996!
