A casual atmosphere features art, people-watching, mingling with friends, shopping, and dining at the diverse and delectable State College restaurants. First Friday goers will experience after-hours access to galleries and shops, free bites and beverages, live music and entertainment, retail and restaurant specials, and more. The Annual Members Show offers the opportunity for all members, regardless of their level of expertise, to show their work. All work entered into the show will be accepted. John McKaig, juror, will choose award winners. Because of the large number of talented artists who are members we have planned the show to be divided into two locations: our Gallery Downtown and Kish Bank’s Expect More Store on S. Allen Street.
Fun with Shadow Puppets at Woskob Family Gallery
Visitors of all ages are invited to the Woskob Family Gallery for an evening of shadow puppet fun! From 5:00-8:00 pm on March 6, create unique shadow puppets and play with your creations at our multiple puppet theaters, or become the puppet yourself at our large scale theater where your body becomes the performance piece! Come explore combinations of light and figure while enjoying some free snacks and refreshments.
Come in and hangout from 5-8pm! Kid Tech will be here with an activity for the young ones!

Lyrical Dance Workshop at The Central Pennsylvania Dance Workshop
Come join us for an introductory class in what is quickly becoming one of the most popular dance forms around! Blending elements of jazz and ballet, lyrical is an expressive form of dance that focuses on fluidity of movement and storytelling. In this beginner-friendly workshop, participants will be introduced to some of the basics of lyrical dance and will experiment with different types of emotional expression in a short piece of choreography.
No experience necessary. Beginners and all ages welcome. Workshop is $15/admission, $10/students, $8/current CPDW students. Dance shoes or socks required.
Artist of the Month at Webster’s Bookstore and Cafe
Every first friday Webster’s features a new local artist. March is presenting the artwork of Jon Vickers-Jones (biography below):
Jon Vickers-Jones is a writer, storyteller, painter, scenic designer, director, and creativity instructor from Britain. He has published books of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, plays, and children’s stories. He has acted and directed in community theater and summer stock, told stories and held workshops in schools, clubs, organizations, and festivals. Vickers-Jones has written and directed children’s plays and assisted students in learning acting techniques, making costumes, and designing and building stage sets for plays. He spent 10 years as a technical director and scenic designer in regional theater and is currently working on a production of Blitz Sisters, and continues to write and paint.
